About Us
Our Story
Hello.... Please allow us to introduce ourselves.
We are a Dental professional family. Neren has been practising as a Dental Surgeon for 25 years. Emma has been a Dental Nurse for 23 years. We often take basic tasks and needs for granted until the arrival of Sahen, our son in 2017. He is diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum and he has made us view the world from a different perspective. From the philospohphical questions like "Will he have a good career, genuine friends and people who will love him?" to the mundane....like "Will he brush his teeth?"
The answer to the latter has been challenging as those who are familiar with ASD will know it is a sensory condition and tastes and textures can be impossible to bare!
As a family of dental professionals, we border on obsessive when it comes to Oral Health. Finding a suitable toothpaste has been challenging and this has led us to develop
Raindrops Toothpaste!
Instead of having a toothpaste that is simply tolerable to those who struggle with minty, foamy dentifrices, we thought we would try to create something that makes children WANT to brush their teeth !

What Makes Us Different?

Mint Free
Most children and especially those with sensory conditions like ASD and ADHD find mint flavours harsh and unpleasant. There are many of us without a diagnosis or any condition that don't like the toothpaste flavours available or they just don't feel like they should be a toothpaste flavour at all! We have grown accustomed to thinking our teeth are clean because of the numbing sensation of mint or similar flavours. Our unique paste has no mint flavour at all. To the majority of us it will not feel familiar, but to those who struggle with mint, toothbrushing will become a task they don't dread and will look forward to !

Foam Free
SLS or Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is the foaming agent commonly used in Toothpastes. From a sensory perspective this can be uncomfortable for children on the Spectrum. Raindrops does not contain SLS. This means the delicious paste won't foam and your child is less likely to rinse away the beneficial Fluoride which helps to strengthen their teeth !

Double the Protection
One of the main benefits of a toothpaste in preventing dental decay is Fluoride. Many people are concerned with the toxicity of Fluoride but as a toothpaste it is used topically and then spat out so we don't ingest it. The longer our teeth are exposed to Fluoride, the more beneficial it is. Raindrops contains 1450ppm of fluoride following guidelines for safe levels to use daily
Xylitol is a natural sweetener with a unique benefit of inhibiting (streptococcus mutans) the bacteria that cause tooth decay ! Our formulation contains Xylitol to add protection
